Researchers at UC Santa Barbara are seeking input from New York blueberry growers as part of a nationwide, USDA-funded study examining how pollination practices affect crop yields. The research aims to better understand how growers' pollination decisions (such as using honey bee hives or bumble bee colonies) and the landscape around their fields relate to blueberry yields and production outcomes.
The survey takes less than 20 minutes and asks about blueberry production practices, managed bee use, and the land and habitat surrounding blueberry fields. Responses are confidential and will be reported only in aggregate. Growers may also complete the survey by phone.
Participation will help researchers better understand pollination habitat and its relationship to blueberry production. Learn more about the project here.
